Mobile blog

You've got to start somewhere. Here's the latest from the Marchland Sidekick. We are now up and running blogs from the original Sidekick as well as the home desktop. Who knew, back in the covered wagon days, that you would be able to update your blog from the road! How futuristic is that?

I'm still holding Frances' "tooth fairy" money in a safe place for her. She said that she would like to buy some gum.

I should introduce the other family unit, Alexis. She is a veteran when it comes to losing teeth, but when asked, is still humble about it. She wants to be a teacher, actress or animal trainer when she grows up. What qualities do these three professions all have in common? I'll give it some thought and let you know the next time around.

Toothless Grin

Frances lost her first tooth yesterday. She had been dreading the day, explaining how she didn't want any of her teeth to fall out. We had to soften her up with gentle rumor of a tooth fairy. Finally she came around and decided that it might be a good idea to part with the old, baby tooth in exchange for any riches that the tooth fairy might leave behind. What do you know; before we even had the chance to tie it up to a doorknob, out it came. Kernel-like in size, it is hard to imagine that it could have played any significant role in chewing anything.

She said that she wanted to get fifteen dollars from the tooth fairy, just like her friend in school. I told her that her friend's tooth fairy probably had a better job than our tooth fairy. Our tooth fairy, quite generously I thought, left her two dollars. Frances was thrilled to find tenderable currency under her pillow at 6AM. Will she actively hope for more dental casualties in exchange for more riches? The answer to that, my dear reader, will have to wait until next time.
